Purpose of the association

The association´s purpose of LIGHT FOR THE WORLD International is to contribute in the so called developing countries to a world in which persons with disabilities fully exercise their rights. Persons with disabilities living in poverty are amongst the most excluded groups in society. They are at the centre of the association´s work and they drive the change.

Her Abilities, founded by LIGHT FOR THE WORLD International, is a global award honouring the achievements of women with disabilities. This website (https://www.her-abilities-award.org/) and other means of communications is to inform all interested people or entities about this award, the honoured women and the general association´s mission to support persons with disability living in poverty, especially in eye care provision, indepedent living, inclusive education and disability rights.
