We are excited to announce an impressive tally of 124 nominees, all of whom stand out due to exceptional accomplishments in their life and field of work.

Facts & Figures

57 of the nominees have qualified in the category „Rights“
40 of them in the field of „Health and Education“
and 27 in „Arts, Culture and Sports“.
The nominees originate from 48 different countries, including Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria, India, Germany, Philippines and the United States.

Thank you for your 124 nominations!

Each and every nomination supports our goal of celebrating the achievements of women with disabilities and creating more social equality. Your support is highly appreciated – especially in times likes these.

“The empowerment of women with disabilities is more important than ever. The Covid-19 crisis reinforced the many disadvantages women face - especially those with disabilities - worldwide. Multiple barriers and forms of discrimination make it significantly difficult for them to gain acknowledgement for their successes. As long as women with disabilities are underrepresented on high-profile stages, in executive boards or in the media, we need initiatives like the Her Abilities Award.“ Sabine Prenn, CEO Light for the World Austria

When will the winners be announced?

In February 2021 a jury of experts will announce who will be awarded in each category.

Make sure to stay tuned and listen out for these outstanding success stories, which are rarely told.
